Help comming for short sales

GSE (Government Sponsored Enterprise, a finacial services corporation created by congress to enhance the flow of credit to targeted sectors) announced that loan servicers of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac backed mortgages were given new timeline requirements for Short Sales. The new requirements require the servicer to acknowledge receipt of a purchase offer within 3 business days. If the offer is submitted with insufficient information the servicer must notify the borrower (seller) of the information needed within 5 days of receipt of the offer. The servicer is then required to respond to the borrower with Freddie Mac’s decision within 30 days of receipt of the purchase offer. These requirements go into effect June 15, 2012 and should speed up the short sales initiated after that date. More information can be found by visiting dsnews.com
